How did CHAMPION & REEVES start?

Andrew Reeves, as a child, fondly remembered, being give a precious treat of a piece of Callard & Bowser Nougat at Christmas. Andrew remembers the excitement of unwrapping the silver paper and savoring the nougat inside. Although family and friends bought him nougat over the years from far and wide Andrew would always say thank you but sigh that it wasn’t the same.  Jacqueline Champion equally has similar memories about her Grandmother giving Butterscotch – not available until we bought it back for over 30 years.

 

Describe CHAMPION & REEVES for us?

Champion & Reeves carefully make nougat, nougat with cherries, butterscotch and cream toffee with the finest ingredients and have worked hard to re-create the taste and quality of the products Andrew and Jacqueline enjoyed. Our dedicated team produce 100% natural products that are gluetin and gelatin free. They also do not use palm oil or shellac in their new range of Dark Chocolate and Sea Salted nuts.

What will you be bringing to the International Spring Fair with you?

Champion & Reeves will be bringing tastings of our nougat described by The Delicatessen Magazine as probably the best in the world. Also Dark Chocolate and Sea Salted Nuts will be available to try.

 

What can you tell us about the opportunity being given to you by Buy-From Shropshire and the Giftware Association to exhibit at the Spring Fair?

 

C & R are delighted that Buy-From Shropshire and the Giftware Association has provided an opportunity to exhibit at this amazing event. The organization gone into making a fabulous space for us under Buy-From is enormously helpful and allows us to show case our beautifully packaged luxury confectionery and reach out to new buyers.

With all that you have achieved so far in your business, what are you most proud of?

 

C&R won a Shropshire Chamber Award in 2016 for Best New Business.

HRH The Duke of York, KG officially opened our production unit in March 2017

Exporting to USA & being invited to showcase our nougat in Japan

Co-branding our Gift Bars with The Houses of both Commons and Lords

Jacqueline became a quest presenter on QVC TV in late 2017

We are proud of the wonderful feedback from people all over the World, who email us their thanks for bringing much loved product back.

Making Dark Chocolate & Sea Salted Almonds & Hazel Nuts – a fantastically health treat in a time when people are being careful.

New news… Our products are being listed in Harrods.

What are your plans for your business in the future?

 

C&R have plans for new products for 2018 but they are currently ‘top secret’ watch this space!

 

Do you have a favourite/best-selling product/design?

 

So far our Nougat but our Dark Chocolate Nuts are proving very popular and have only just been launched.

 

Do you have any new products or designs out for the International Spring Fair?

 

C&R are delighted to be showing our re-fleshed gift packaging and our new Dark Chocolate and Sea Salted Nut products.

 

Who are you hoping to see at the International Spring Fair?  

 

Buyers who are looking for British Confectionery that offers true quality and taste be they department stores, gift shops, delis or online businesses.
